How does an offshore company use
onshore office space?

Shell Deepwater challenged us to re-think the way people work. A work environment was created that used space efficiently and promoted interaction instead of isolation.

Project Profile:
Once a new offshore platform is activated in the Gulf of Mexico, it is the Produce Process' group responsibility to support the people, equipment and services at that offshore site. Evolving project teams comprised of offshore and onshore staff required a work flexible environment in order to accommodate rig start-up training needs and support ongoing engineering work.

The use of office space was an important concern. Floor space had to be utilized in an efficient manner.

Project Team Leaders, who are typically out of the office several days a week, received a 6' x 8' Steelcase Personal Harbor. The floor space that was saved by using these smaller workplaces was reallocated into project team rooms and community areas.
